Scottish liquor brand Braw Liquor Club focuses on producing locally sourced, small batch cocktails. Expertly crafted with premium Scottish ingredients. They're on a mission to make cocktails better without cutting corners on quality, using Scottish ingredients from land and sea, sourced with transparency. We spoke to founder Lizzie Mackirdy who answered all things Braw Liquor Club!
When was your company formed?
14 months ago, so just over a year trading.
Where are you based?
On the Isle of Bute.
What do you produce?
Small-batch Premium Cocktails with a Scottish twist.
How many people work for the business?
Just me!
Who do you sell to?
On my website and retailers online - for example Master of Malt, independents such as - Rosemount Market in Aberdeen, and also Farm Shops like - Crieff Food Company.
Is there a specific product you're particularly proud of and why?
Hard to choose, as they both launched together and are both award winning! The Whisky Old Fashioned with Sea Tangle won the Gold at the Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards 2022 and the Bramble with Gooseberry won Silver!
What do you most enjoy about running your business?
Every day is different, there is always a new challenge to tackle. Always learning.
When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing?
I have definitely gotten more into my fitness. I took up Yoga in lockdown, do a bit of running and there are so many beautiful walks on Bute to enjoy.
What do you think of the free Product Guru platform?
It's really useful to help market a brand, especially if you are starting out and on a small scale and want to get in front of key retailers.
What encouraged you to join?
I noticed Product Guru on Instagram.
